Geophysical Engineering Contracting

Oil-gas and mineral exploration or engineering geological surveys are carried out across coastal-to-shallow-water zones, generally covering intertidal belts and nearshore waters with a water depth ranging from 0 to 50 meters. Characterized by both terrestrial and marine environmental features, this area is constrained by multiple factors including tidal fluctuations, wind-wave action, shoals, sandbars, navigation restrictions and marine environmental protection regulations.

Amphibious or shallow-water-specialized equipment is therefore required, such as transition-zone vibrators, shallow-streamer systems, Ocean-Bottom Nodes (OBN) and air-gun sources. Workflows are dominated by 2D/3D seismic exploration, supplemented by gravity-magnetic surveys and sub-bottom profiling. Through offshore data acquisition, data processing and geological interpretation, the program delineates structural traps and reservoir distribution within offshore basins, shallow seabed geological frameworks, active faults and hazardous geological bodies (including shallow gas, sand ridges and scoured channels).
